N.B. STAG had a break in trauma data collection between 2003 and 2010, so no trauma data is available for this time period.

STAG recommenced collection of trauma data in 2011 and methodology was mainly comparable to the first STAG audit from 1992-2002. In 2013, the methodology was changed by:

a) the introduction of an updated AIS coding dictionary(version 2005 with 2008 updates) in 2013 (which added many codes and changed the severity coding for some injuries)
b) an amended inclusion/exclusion criteria Download Inclusion/Exclusion criteria Version 6.5 in pdf [402Kb]
- the main changes of which reduced the follow up time of patients in the audit from 3 months to 30 days, and excluded some isolated closed lower limb injuries as well as isolated closed upper limb injuries.

Mapping of 2011-2012 data to the new AIS codes and inclusion has now been completed.
